Could the person from Ohio U who visits every day please e-mail me or sign the guestbook? I'm curious to know who you are.

Ooh, good mail today. No junk. First, a photograph of Shannon with her new cute short hair, looks even better than before. Then an acceptance letter from Univ of Cincinnati. Finally, a birthday card from Phil.

This morning we poured our bronze sculptures. Well, our entire class didn't, two burly guys carrying the container of molten bronze did. Still, it was cool. I was the skimmer - I skimmed off the bubbles and chunks forming as they poured the metal so that it would be consistantly liquid.

Stayed up too late finishing my macroeconomics exam, but I think I did all right. Time for a nap.

Mom and Dad came up for my birthday again. We went to lunch, then went to the art building to look at some of my drawings and then the museum to see the Splendid Pages exhibition.

It's been snowing lightly since this afternoon; we're supposed to get 4-8 inches. I'm staying in tonight.

Oh, I forgot to write here. A week ago was the award ceremony for (and the end of) the student show, and I won some awards for my drawings: one for "Swimmingly" (untitled in the show, because I hadn't thought of a title yet) and three for "Cosmographic" (ditto). Apparently the juror liked "Cosmographic" very much and wants to buy it.

just talked to erika on im. she's in grad school, which is apparently like indentured servitude because it takes so long. but i think she's doing all right. she is exactly one year younger than i am.

tomorrow is the closing reception for the student show. i guess deb wanted me to make my drawings eligible for the dean's award because not many people said yes to it, but i'd really rather not sell either one for $500. but maybe i'm overvaluing them. they're both kind of important to me, so i'd rather never sell them.

I went home this weekend to get help filling out the FAFSA. I need aid. I also did laundry and replaced a burnt-out headlight on my car. These simple things, plus seeing my family, make me happy.

My parents bought a digital camera! It's much better than mine, but then, mine's almost 4 years old. Someday, I will again have the latest technology for a month.

What's the point of life? Yeah, you probably shouldn't ask yourself that every day.

Joy and Kate had this episode of My Little Pony on tape and I remember some of these details too vividly. I think it and other 80s cartoons still inform my more frightening dreams to this day.

This site also just reminded me of Musclemen, which I haven't thought about for maybe 10 years.

I dropped that Jazz class a couple of weeks ago, so now my Saturday mornings are free.

I'm going to mail my (late) grad school applications tomorrow morning. I wrote the schools and they all said it was ok; in fact, they were really cool about it. See, I took slides last week and they all turned out bad, so that was $200 down the drain. (Incidentally, I imposed a limit at the beginning of the year of buying 12 cds this year. That's gone now too - I can't buy any.) So I had to get duplicates of some decent slides I already had (which I should have done in the first place and not spent all that money on film and developing). I just got them back today, and they look good. So now I've got everything to send.

Wednesday I have to give a presentation in Sculpture on artist Tom Friedman. You should really check him out.

I think I feel the same way I did when I heard about the Challenger. My kindergarten teacher was crying when she told us about it.
