Ann Bourke has a website! She is one of my high school idols. I didn't know she did this solo acoustic guitar stuff now... but then, I never really knew her that well. I just worshipped her from afar like I did so many others.

Related is Tim Rowland and Jeremy Chmielewski's band While Supplies Last. They both went to my high school as well. I knew Ann and Tim from being in theater. They were, deservedly, the stars of the shows when they were juniors and seniors.

I saw these pigs every day on my way to school last spring.

Wow! Silk-milk-producing Spider-goats! Well, 1/70,000 spider.

Something really cool happened yesterday: Hisako called from New York. She hasn't had a phone in a while, and we hadn't spoken since the end of 2000, when she moved back to Japan for a little while. She recounted how she got hit by a truck within a month of arriving and having a head trauma. Then at the end of August 2001 she moved to NYC. It sounded like she misses her friends from here and isn't having a great time at her school (this one, I think), but is getting by, considering how expensive everything is there.

On Sunday Phil and I went to Southie, took a tour of Fort Independence, and walked along the beach. It was quite a lot of walking, but enjoyable. We rented Following and watched it with Teresa back at their apartment. It had a disjointed time sequence like Memento, but wasn't really as thought-provoking. It had a sort of "Oh!" ending like The Usual Suspects, but wasn't as good as that movie either. I dunno. It was worth seeing.

Monday I flew back to Columbus. I took care of some stuff at my parents' house and then came back up here.

That is all.

I spent about a week in Toledo doing not very much, looking for a job and not finding one. I came home on Wednesday evening. Mom, Dad, and Joy left Thursday morning bound for New Hampshire, where my brother was graduating from Tuck at Dartmouth. Kate and I flew to Boston because her last final was on Friday morning, and we spent the night at Phil and Teresa's, whence we drove up to Dartmouth today. There was much eating, standing, talking, sitting, and some taking of photographs.

Mom, Dad, and my sisters are off to Canada tomorrow for a week's vacation, and I'm staying here in Boston till Monday when I fly back to Columbus to mow the lawn and run the sump pump which doesn't work automatically. Actually, those tasks are incidental, but I do need to get back. Meanwhile, I get to do some fun things in Boston with Phil and Teresa while I have the chance.
