Junk

My technological extensions are falling apart. My phone stopped working (for the second time, after mysteriously healing itself about two month ago) and now my computer won't turn on. This is disconcerting.

And Pi is still broken, too - she keeps hissing at Boo. (Hey, that rhymes!)

Crafts and Cats

Today we had "Paint Your Plate" at the craft gym, where people could come in and paint some ceramics. Two kids and one adult showed up, and we had a good time. I painted a peep-yellow bunny and started to paint a metallic-green turtle on a skateboard.

Boo (one of our two cats) went missing for about thirty hours. We let him out the door on Wednesday afternoon and he didn't come back all night. Last night around 11pm we heard him mewing at the door, so we let him in. Pi (the other cat) started hissing at him, which was completely unexpected since they're siblings and they've always gotten along till now. Pi continues to do this every time they're in close proximity. What's going on here? Was Boo abducted by aliens and replaced by an evil clone, and only Pi can tell the difference? Or is Pi just a bitch?

Still haven't heard back about the job. Got to get something else going.

I'm going to clean up the house a little.

Father's Day weekend

This past weekend was good. On Friday I submitted a job app for a graphic design position and I haven't uncrossed my fingers. Feeling like something had been accomplished, I took Shannon out to a movie (The Lake House, which was good) and to have a drink. Saturday is a blank - not because we had too much to drink but simply because my mind is a sieve. On Sunday we went to mass with Shannon's family in the morning, then Shannon and I played video games with Amber and Paul. In the afternoon we went to Backbone and played croquet on crazy hilly terrain and had grilled burgers and hot dogs. On the way back Shannon's dad took me on his motorcycle. The spare helmet was comically undersized for my immense noggin, and looking at myself in the rear view mirror I realized how ghastly pale I am, but otherwise the ride was smooth. After we got home, Shannon went for a ride too, while I called my dad, who seemed to have had a good day too. In the evening we went back over to Shannon's parents' for a bonfire, where we made s'mores and listened to the 70s rock CD that Shannon and I made for her dad.
