Day 3

We said goodbye to Shannon's parents and headed north. Our first stop was in Spillville, IA, where the Czech composer Dvorak spent a summer and wrote his "New World Symphony". It's also near the home the Bily brothers, farmers who built amazing clocks in their spare time. One building is a museum for these two subjects. We took a little tour of the museum where they demonstrated some of the clocks moving parts and explained the impetus for each one.

Later that day we got to Rochester, MN, to stay with Shannon's cousin Liz and her 3-year-old son Lantz. Lantz's favorite superhero is Spiderman, or as he calls him, "Man-man". I was "Robo-Bear".

We spent two nights at Liz's and this morning we drove up to St. Paul. We just had lunch with Anne's friend from St. Kate's, Anne.

We'll be here for the weekend, then it's off to South Dakota.
