Quitting/consuming

I put in my two weeks' notice at work today. Lots of crying and promises of change on their part, but I was steadfast: I cannot sort your dirty laundry anymore. I am off to Boston to pursue a career, or at least to take care of my adorable niece.

I like the drawings I've made in the past week. I finally feel ready to submit something to Imperfect Articles.

A guy from work lent me Salvador Dali: A Soft Self-Portrait. It's a bizarre hour-long film that's sort of an overview of Dali's philosophy, as told by Dali himself and narrator Orson Welles, as well as something of an art video itself. It's bewildering, partly because of the weird cuts and imagery and partly because Dali talks like he has marbles in his mouth.

Shannon got us cool stuff from Urban Outfitters. I now have the Gangsta Rap Coloring Book, some checkerboard Vans, and a guitar/amp t-shirt.

Imperfect Articles is run by a friend of mine from grad school. He is awesome. Actually he was at our wedding! He did a reading with Irene.
